

Cathie was born in Indianapolis, Indiana to James G. Worthington and Margaret Alice Lowe Worthington.
She graduated from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis and went on to study speech pathology at Purdue University.
Her travels took her to Grand Rapids, Michigan where she lived most of her adult life. Her career began at a small orthopedic doctors office. When she retired in 2001, she was the office manager for Orthopedic Associates of Michigan.
She moved to Jacksonville in 2002. Her favorite hobby was reading, and she kept the folks at the local library very busy. She had quite a collection of books, as well as dolls and stuffed bears. She also loved spending time with her many friends playing Canasta, Mahjong, Bunco and Euchre.
She was a long time member of the Arlington Newcomers Club (ANC) as well as Red Hats Society. She was a member of Highlands United Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville.
Cathie is survived by her four children: James (Sue) Guy, David (Lisa) Guy, Kristin (John) Michalczyk and Keri Lyn Guy (River Cohen); grandchildren, Jessica, Rachel, Logan, Christopher, Kaileigh, Gillian, Alaina, Skyelar and Maelani as well as 6 great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by husband Douglas J. Pate (d. 2009) and first husband James L. Guy (d.2020) father of her four children, and brothers Bill and Tim Worthington.
A funeral service for Catherine will be held Monday, April 14, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225, followed by a Committal service from 11:30 AM to 12:00 PM. Refreshments will be available inside after the committal service.
