

Celese Wilson Proctor, a cherished resident of Jacksonville, FL, passed on August 26, 2024. Born in Franklin, Indiana, Celese moved to Jacksonville as a baby with her parents, Robert Earl Wilson Sr. and Doris Louise Rhude Wilson.
A proud Paxon High School graduate of 1967, Celese's early years included playing the violin with the Jacksonville Youth Orchestra. Her lifelong dedication to the arts continued through her co-ownership of Village Ceramics with her beloved mother. Celese also enjoyed a fulfilling career, having worked as a demonstrator for House of Lloyd, a switchboard operator at Homeside Lending, and later as an insurance underwriter before her retirement.
Celese was known for her charitable heart, committing much of her time to the local women’s division of the Jacksonville Shriners. She also sang in the choir at Riverside Presbyterian Apartments.
She is survived by her daughters, Shannon Proctor Macomber (Gilbert Macomber) and Valerie Proctor Boote (John Boote), her brothers, Douglas Wilson and Robert Wilson, Jr. (Julia Wilson), six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, and her beloved cat, Josie. Celese was predeceased by her parents.
A Celebration of Life potluck will be held at Five Points Chapel (702 Margaret Street Jacksonville, FL 32204) on September 13, 2024 from 2:30pm-6:00pm. Attendees are kindly asked to wear something yellow, Celese's favorite color.
Celese’s kindness, vibrant spirit, and love for her family and community will forever be remembered. She will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege to know her.
