Charles worked as a machine operator at US Gypsum for 35 years before beginning his well deserved retirement in 2001.
His retirement was spent doting on his grandchildren and enjoying his favorite pastimes including NASCAR racing, Tampa Bay Rays baseball, trips to Disney World, the North Carolina mountains, and Biloxi, Mississippi.
Charles and his brother, Jerry, were also regular fixtures at the Orange Park Kennel Club for Saturday greyhound races.
He is predeceased by his precious wife, Marsha Boone, as well as two brothers and one sister.
Left behind to celebrate Charles’ life are his two children, Charlotte (Patrick) Joyce and Curtis Boone, eight grandchildren, Corey, Alan, Mary Elisabeth, Jordan, Andrew, Harley, Kathryn, and William, six great grandchildren, two sisters, Cordelia Frank and Betty Mosley, and a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
The family wishes to thank Community Hospice for the care they provided at the end of his life on earth. If you would prefer to make a donation in lieu of flowers, please donate to Community Hospice.
