He had a full life filled with service to his country and community as a firefighter in Port Naches, TX, a member of the Texas Air National Guard for 12 years in Houston, a 20 year retired veteran of the Navy, and 16 years with the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office. He had a varied list of interests including Amateur HAM radio, HO scale trains, archery, and Irish drumming.
He has studied genealogy, tracing his ancestry back to Ireland. He was a big fan of sci-fi and fantasy; he even made his own Klingon costume. His favorite part of life, however, was being surrounded by family.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Linda Marguerite (Cline) Moore, four children, Jennifer, Charles Jr., Wendy, and Emily, four grandchildren, Aimee, Regan, Jonathan, and Alexander, and three siblings, Edward, Glenda, and John.
He will be sorely missed.
Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2016 at 3pm at Hardage-Giddens Funeral Home, Town & Country Chapel, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205.
