Charlotte Anna Carr

Born in Huntington WV on 15 Jan 1943, Charlotte’s life was rooted in compassion, resilience, and devotion to her entire family and friends. She was all heart – a comedian in disguise, displaying strength beyond comprehension with her first husband in a horrible car accident and paralyzed him from the waist down when she was 21 years old. Her courage to endure and embrace and excel in raising a daughter and son was beyond words and remarkable. She was not perfect; but you will never find another person who gave and tried to help everyone in her family and friends, and believe me she never met a stranger. She had a unique gift for making people feel seen and valued, genuinely left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

As a grandmother, she found immense joy and pride in her grandchildren, and 1 special great-grandchild, cherishing every moment spent with them. Her stories, her gentle guidance, and the special bond she shared with each grandchild should be treasured forever.

Her shopping wasn’t a hobby, it was an art form. Going to bingo and loved her popsicle Pete at the dog track. We are Marshall/WVU and Cincinnati Reds Fan; loved traveling to Myrtle/Cocoa and Clearwater beaches and the mountains of Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge TN.

She is survived by two loving children, for grandchildren, one great grandchild and several nieces and nephews, all of whom will carry her selflessness and unconditional love forward.

A committal service will be held 07 Aug 2026 from 1:00 to 1:30 at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd to celebrate her beautiful life. In honor of her memory, the family encourages acts of kindness and time spent with loved ones- just as she always did.
