Cheryl L. Mobley, born October 24, 1964, in Jacksonville, Florida, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 26, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family. Cheryl was a devoted daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose greatest love was Jesus.
Cheryl’s faith was at the center of her life. She loved the Lord deeply, and her faith was a source of strength, comfort, and hope throughout her life. She leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family that will continue through the many lives she touched.
Cheryl graduated from West Nassau High School and later attended Florida Junior College in Jacksonville. She spent many years as a school bus driver, safely carrying hundreds of students to and from school. She later began a career in banking, spending more than 20 years combined as a bank teller with Bank of America and Synovus Bank. Throughout her working years, Cheryl enjoyed the relationships she formed and the many people she came to know.
Cheryl loved to travel, especially cruising and seeing new places. Whether she was on a trip, spending time with family, or simply enjoying everyday life, Cheryl could almost always be found with a smile on her face. She genuinely loved people and had a remarkable ability to see the good in others. Those closest to her will remember that she never had a bad word to say about anyone and treated those around her with kindness, warmth, and love.
Cheryl was preceded in death by her parents, Norman Phaneuf and Glenda (Jeff) Jacobs, her siblings, Norma Phaneuf, Norman Phaneuf, and Joseph Phaneuf, and her nephew, Andrew Andreoli.
Cheryl is survived by her loving husband, Terry Mobley, and her stepmother, Kathleen Phaneuf. She was a loving mother to Travis (Lexie) Hinton, Bradley (Amber) Hinton, and Jessica (Van) Quang, and a cherished stepmother to Jamie (Cassandra) Mobley, Trenton (Becky) Mobley, and Rachel (Aaron) Burnsed.
One of Cheryl’s greatest joys was being a grandmother. She leaves behind her beloved grandchildren, Madison Quang, Mackenzie Quang, William Mobley, Beau Hinton, Hazel Mobley, Emilia Hinton, Emerson Hinton, Kane Burnsed, Alexander Hinton, Rory Burnsed, Charlotte Mobley, Brady Burnsed, Blair Burnsed, and Archer Mobley, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
She is also survived by her sisters, Eliza (David) Huff and Rachael (Paul) Lee, as well as her nephew and nieces, Brogan Hall, Abbagale Andreoli, Alexis Lee, and Audrey Hall.
Those who knew Cheryl will remember her for her love of the Lord, her devotion to her family, her ever-present smile, and the kindness she showed to everyone she met. Her life was a blessing, her memory will be treasured, and her love will live on through her family and the many lives she touched.
Though her family will deeply miss her, they find comfort in knowing that Cheryl is now at peace in the arms of Jesus Christ, whom she loved so dearly.
In honor of Cheryl and the joy and warmth she brought to those around her, the family kindly asks everyone attending her services to wear something purple, Cheryl’s favorite color, as a celebration of her life and memory.
Until we meet again.
