Christine Taylor, age 97, passed away in Jacksonville, FL on Sunday, March 31, 2024. She was born in Ochlocknee, GA on August 16, 1926 to H.T. Shelton and Thelma C. Wheeler. She married Thomas C. Taylor on April 12, 1945.
Christine worked as a teacher of kindergarten age children and was a homemaker in her own home. She enjoyed flowers, sewing and knitting. She had been a member of Westside Baptist Church.
Surviving her is her daughter, Linda Cross (Larry); son Marc Taylor (Teri); grand-daughters, Courtney Daughtery (Jason), Christine Hulsey (Chris) and Jessie Ferrar (Alex); grandson Tommy Taylor (Evie); seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her husband, Thomas C. Taylor, sister, Bobbi Crawford and brother, Bill Shelton.
A visitation for Christine will be on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Westside Baptist Church, 7775 Herlong Road, Jacksonville, FL 32210 with funeral services at 11:00 AM. The committal service will be held at 1:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205.
