Cindy was born January 29, 1956 in Martinsville, Virginia.
Growing up in a military family, Cindy attended many different schools. She graduated from
Moultrie High School in 1974, and she later attended Florida Junior College in Jacksonville,
Florida.
Not only was Cindy a talented artist, but she had a delightful sense of humor and loved making
others laugh. Cindy grew up singing in church with her mom and sisters, and she had a
beautiful voice.
On December 31, 1998, Cindy married Robert Glen Armstrong. They made their home in
Jacksonville, Florida. She was devoted to her family. and never missed an opportunity to let
them know how much they were loved. Cindy’s love extended beyond family. She was known
for her kindness to anyone who came across her path. This was often shown in kind words
written in cards, surprising gifts given with great joy, and even cookies passed out to strangers
who needed a smile and encouragement.
Cindy was preceded in death by her sisters, Linda Kay Crowell and Dorothy Lea Crowell. Cindy
is survived by her husband, Glen Armstrong, her mother, Mickey Crowell, sisters Brenda (John)
Arnold and Melinda (David) Gragg. She is also survived by her daughters April (Ed) Borntraeger
and Stacy (Bryan) Bennett, as well as seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, many
nephews, nieces, and extended family.
A private Celebration of Life will be held by the family.
