Clara loved to snuggle, listen to music, and be with her family – near and far. She enjoyed times spent in Avondale with her Jacksonville family and at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church with her church family, on road trips up the East coast visiting her Navy family, and in Pennsylvania and Maryland with her grandparents, aunts, uncles and many cousins. Clara also loved going to baseball games to cheer on the Phillies, Suns/Jumbo Shrimp, and most importantly, her siblings. A treasured memory is Clara’s Dreams Come True vacation to Give Kids the World Village with her family and grandparents. In her 16 years, Clara gracefully touched many lives with her joyful spirit, her boundless courage, her resilient fortitude, and her infinite love, without ever saying a single word.
Clara was cared for lovingly from birth by amazing doctors, nurses, and therapists at the Portland Hospital, London; UF Health, Gainesville; Wolfson’s Children’s Hospital, Nemours, Wolfson’s Children’s Rehab, Community PedsCare and the Naval Hospital, Jacksonville. Clara attended Mount Herman Exceptional Student Center where she was nurtured and taught by exceptional teachers, paraprofessionals, therapists, and nurses.
Clara lives on through her adoring parents, Beth and Kevin, her dedicated siblings, Ian, Leo, and Tessa, her Nana and Grandpa, Terry and Bob Rasch, her Grandpop, Len Azzarano, and her many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and caregivers. Clara’s proudest accomplishment was being a big sister, or Sissy, to her loving brothers and sister. She is now holding hands with her Grandmom, Sue Azzarano, and shining brightly down on us all.
Clara’s Celebration of Life will take place at St Matthew’s Catholic Church, Jacksonville, FL at a time to be determined, when we can all gather safely in her name.
