Dan Smith

Daniel T. Smith, 75, passed away Monday, August 2, 2021 at Baptist South Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. He was the beloved husband of Jacqueline Luciano. Born in Pawtucket, RI, Dan was a son of the late James and Tessie B. (Sleczkowski) Smith. He lived in Jacksonville for the past 5 years and was formerly of North Providence, RI. He was predeceased by his brothers James D. and John L. Smith. Dan was employed at the Narragansett Bay Commission in Providence for fourteen and a half years as the IT Manager, retiring in December 2016. He had previously worked as a Consulting Manager for Digital Equipment Corporation / Compaq / Hewlett Packard for twenty-five years. Besides his wife, Dan leaves his stepson, Jesse Fox of Portland, Oregon, and nieces and nephews in Rhode Island. Calling hours will be held Saturday, August 21, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Hardage Giddens Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, Florida. A graveside service and burial of the ashes will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 10:30 AM at Swan Point Cemetery, 585 Blackstone Blvd., Providence, RI. Relatives and friends are welcome to attend these events.
