

Dennis was born in Columbia Heights, Minnesota on July 23, 1938 to Charles Malenfant and Laura Peterson Malenfant. He married Kay Van Buren Malenfant on June 7, 1958 and was married almost 65 years. Dennis served in the United States Navy for 20 years, earning many medals and awards including a Purple Heart for saving the lives of 2 soldiers during the Vietnam War. He was a hardworking man, known for his ability to build, fix and repair just about anything. Dennis had a strong work ethic, often having to be told to stop and take a break. He loved his family fiercely and everything he did he gave 100%.
He was predeceased by his sons, Dennis and Dwayne Malenfant, a granddaughter, Lacey Kay Blincoe, and a brother, Wade Malenfant. He is survived by his loving wife, Kay Malenfant; son, Michael Malenfant (Darlene); daughter, Denise Malenfant; grandchildren, Christine Leib (Justin); Tiffany Cope (Aaron); Steven Malenfant; Rikki Smith; Jessica Malenfant; great-grandchildren, Bruce Cope; Brady Cope; Jace Leib; Charles (Charley) Leib; Gemma Leib, all of Jacksonville, Florida; one sister, Annette; and many nephews, nieces and friends.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, May 13, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, Fl 32205. A reception will follow from 11:45 am until 1:45 pm at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home.
