Denzel Aaron Dickerson

Denzel Aaron Dickerson, a devoted father, cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend, was born on December 27, 1990, at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville, Florida. Denzel’s life was marked by his passion for football, his dedication to his work, and the love he shared with his family and friends.

Growing up, Denzel attended Forest High School, where he discovered his love for football. He proudly wore the number 59 as he played on the offensive line, showcasing his strength and determination.

After high school, Denzel pursued his education and spent a year at FCCJ (Florida Community College at Jacksonville). He was admired for his tenacity and his ability to push himself to excel both on and off the field. In his professional life, Denzel worked alongside his brother in a moving company, displaying his strong work ethic and commitment to helping others.

He later found employment at the Hilton Hotel, where he made lasting connections and brightened the days of those he served.

On June 30th, 2023, Denzel’s journey came to an untimely end, leaving a void in the lives of those who cherished him.

He is survived by his beloved son, Jacobie Dickerson, who will forever carry his father’s memory in his heart. Denzel is also survived by his father, Antonio Dickerson, and his mother, Mardine Dickerson, who nurtured him with unwavering love. His passing is mourned deeply by his brother, Devon Dickerson, and his sister, Crystal Baxter, along with her daughters, Ja’Nicelynn Muhammad and Ja’Qauia Muhammad.

Denzel’s memory will be forever treasured by his grandmothers, Girty Balentine and Rosie Dickerson, as well as his grandfather, Able Dickerson. He will be dearly missed by his aunties, Edith Bonner, Wanda Dickerson, and Mary Jones, and his great auntie, Mable Shipp. Denzel’s uncles, Clayton Balentine and Thomas Charles Balentine, as well as his great uncles, TC Martin and Harry Dickerson, also mourn his loss.

Beyond his immediate family, Denzel leaves behind a host of cousins and friends who were touched by his warmth, generosity, and infectious spirit.
