Don passed away April 19, 2015 at home. Don was 61 years old. Don was born in Grand Rapids, Mn. on Nov. 16, 1953 to the late Adelor and Louise Racine. He was the youngest of three boys. After high school Don served in the U.S. Army.
Don moved to Jacksonville, Fl. with his wife, in 1994. Don worked hard building and designing custom boat accessories at Racine Design, Inc., a small business that he built together with his wife. Don was a longtime member of the Marine Fabricators Association. He was a frequent speaker at MFA conventions and workshops. He was also a regular featured author of instructional techniques in the Marine Fabricators Magazine and a past winner of MFA Fabrication Excellence Awards and the IAA International Awards of Excellence. Don enjoyed learning and sharing his knowledge whenever he could. He was blessed with the “gift of gab”. He also loved music and campfires and surrounded himself with good friends and fun whenever possible. Don is survived by his wife Carol, daughter Melissa (Adam) Gorman, and four grandchildren. Family and friends will gather to honor and celebrate Don’s life on May 3rd.
