I am truley sorry to hear of the passing of Mr. Cross. He was a fine man and a good role model for students to look up to..I also know from experience that he swung a mean paddle..God bless Mr.Cross and his faimly in their time of need.

Coach Cross was my baseball coach at Paxon High from 1956 - 1958, He was very instrumental in my life and I considered him to be an excellent mentor. I am saddened by his loss but pleased that he lived a long and fruitful life.

I first met Dean Cross when he applied the board of education to my seat of learning.  Afterward, he sat and talked to me about my goals and aspirations.  His concern for my future and his kindness left a lasting impression on me. I've used his words of wisdom many times in my life.  I'm sure his family is very proud of his goodness and the legacy he left with his athletes and students.  RIP Mr. Cross.

Coach Cross was my baseball coach when I graduated from Paxon Highschool in 1956.  I can still recall how he was always sincerely concerned for his students.  He always related to us in the most positive way and encouraged us to put forth our best effort.  Thirty years after I graduated I saw him one evening in Jacksonville and he still remembered my name. I thought that was amazing.  But then Coach Cross was an amazing person.  His entire family was very fortunate to have had such a close relationship with him.  I will certainly miss him and know that he will receive a great reward for the life he lived.  I was so inspired by him that I went on to become a coach myself.

So very sorry for your loss. I feel that Mr. Cross is in a peaceful place with God by his side. Chris, thank you for introducing me to your family and having the pleasure of talking with your Dad. I will always be greatful for having known him. He never gave up on me, always encouraged me to play the game smarter and always told me that I should   work hard for good results. To the family of Don Cross;  My name is Mary Williams Blackman.  I am a 1949 graduate of Andrew Jackson High School.  I was a student of Mr. Cross in his Driver's Education class at Jackson.  He did a fine job of teaching a teenage girl how to drive an automobile.  I am now 81 years old and am still driving.  He was kind, patient and a pleasure to be around.  He was always invited to our Class of '49 reunions.  We were always glad to see him.  My sincere condolences to all of the family,  Mary Blackman

Sally, it's sad to look over the fence, knowing that you and Don will never live in your house again. But, it is consoling to know that Don is in the House of the Lord, now. He was blessed to have had such a long and rewarding life, and surely he left you and your family with fond memories of your journey through life together. Your friend, Charlie Flynn.

We have had the pleasure of visiting and sharing holidays with Don and Sally Cross many times during the last 15 years. We always enjoyed Don's interesting stories and insights. He will be missed, and our prayers are with Sally and the rest of the family.

I remember coach Cross from my years at Paxon Sr.(class of 64). He was dean of boys then and I felt the sting of his paddle more than once! He was stern but fair. Thanks for that early lesson in life coach.R.I.P
