

Donald F. Layton, age 78, passed away April 1, 2014. He was born in Binghamton, NY and moved to Orlando, FL in 1964. He was the owner of Wekiva Auto Body Shop for 20 years before retiring in Jacksonville, FL.
He took great joy in his family and loved being around his grandchildren. He was an avid golfer and bowler and took much pride in the fact that he bowled for 28 years in the National Bowling Tournament .
He is preceded in death by his parents Helen Rogers and Burt Layton, brothers Richard and Bill Layton, and son Douglas Layton. Survivors include his wife of 37 years Karen, sons Donald (Terry), Timothy (Deb), David (Phyllis) Layton, Michael Meredith, and daughters Denise Morton (Jerry) and Michelle Gray (Dane). He is also survived by nine grandchildren: Jessica Winkel (Jeff), Sherri Collier (Scott), Donald Layton, Daniel Layton, Eric Layton (Dee), Steven Dewberry (Candi), Justin Dewberry, Garrett Gray, and Grant Gray, in addition to 15 great-grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by family and many friends.
Don had great faith, trusted the Lord, and has now moved on to be with Him.
Family will receive friends at the Hardage Giddens Funeral Home, 850 St Johns Bluff Rd N, Jacksonville, FL, on Thursday April, 3, 2014 from 6-7:30pm. Services will be held at North Jacksonville Baptist Church, 8531 N Main St, Jacksonville, FL, on Friday April 4, 2014 at 11am with visitation from 10-11am.
