Doris Jeanette Black, age 88, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on January 29, 2023. She was born in Nahunta, GA to William Broyles and Maybelle McClellan Broyles. She attended Kirby Smith Junior High in Jacksonville, FL before marrying William A. E. Black.
Doris worked at King Edward Cigar Factory, DeWolfee Furniture Refinishing, University Medical Center and finally at Wal-Mart as a greeter. She was an artist, decorated cakes, and loved reading historical romance novels, fishing, ceramics and crafts of all kinds. She also enjoyed working with flowers and plants.
Doris was predeceased by her first husband William A. E. Black, and her second husband of 35 years George DeWolfee.
She is survived by her daughters, Portia L Hill(Rod) and son-in-law and Pamela Jo Mattox and son-in-law Bruce; and son, Randy E. DeWolfee; and many grandchildren; great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
