Doris Aldene Chapman

Doris A. Chapman went to be with the Lord Sunday, November 25, 2012. She was born October 18, 1938, to Tyson Harold and Hazel Aldene Gibson Kegarise, in Bedford, Pennsylvania. She came to Jacksonville, Florida, in 1960 where she met and married Johnnie W. Chapman, Jr., on October 23rd, 1960; they were married 53 years. They were members of Normandy Baptist Temple where they were both saved and baptized in1960. She loved the Lord, loved her family, and loved her friends. Doris was a faithful wife, mother and friend. Mrs. Chapman had four children: Ken, Joannie, Wade, Jon; and a niece she raised as her own: Carolyn Metcalf Campbell. She is preceded in death by her son Ken Chapman and survived by her her husband, Johnnie W. Chapman, Jr., and her remaining three children, niece, and many grandchildren: Shannon, Taylor, Adam, Josh, Chelsea, Megan, Tyler, Hannah, Lacey, Ciara, Gavin, Carter, Jake, Jenna, Dalton, Dillon, Josh, Jarrod, Sarah and Great Grandchildren: Caleigh, Jordyn and Jaimie. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home located at 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jax. FL 32205. The family will receive friends and family for a viewing Thursday, November 29, 2012, at West Jacksonville Baptist Church (previously Normandy Baptist Temple) from 6pm-8pm and the Funeral Services will be held Friday, November 30, 2012 at 12pm, also held at West Jacksonville Baptist Church located at 5634 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL, 32254, with Dr. Rodney Kelley officiating. She will be laid to rest at Riverside Memorial Park located at Normandy & Memorial Park Rd. following the service.
