Doris P. Turner

Doris Pearl Routt Turner passed away August 28, 2010. She was born March 16, 1934 in Soddy Daisy, Tennessee and moved to Jacksonville in 1957. Mrs. Turner was retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield after many years service. She was a member of Oak Hill Church of the Nazarene and a very beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Mrs. Turner is survived by: daughters Frances V. “Vi” Turner and Dana Turner; stepdaughter Joyce McClendon; stepson Ronald E. Turner; brother Jack Allen Routt; sister S. Jane Smith; numerous grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husband John L. Turner; son C. Scott Turner; stepson Edward Turner; stepdaughter Linda Snell; brothers Roy Routt and Francis Routt; and sister Elizabeth Hamby.

The family will receive friends Wednesday September 1, 2010 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held, Thursday, September 2, 2010 10:00 a.m.

Interment will be in Riverside Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers family requests memorial contributions be made to American Heart Association 5851 Saint Augustine Road, Jacksonville, Fl. 32207 or American Cancer Society 1430 Prudential Drive, Jacksonville, Fl. 32207.
