Dorothy Jean Cooper

Dorothy Jean Cooper, age 87, passed away January 18, 2018 at Community Hospice in Jacksonville, FL. For approximately 20 years she was a school bus driver for the Duval County School System. She was actively involved in square dancing in the local community and frequently participated in competition as well as training. Dorothy loved to travel, often visiting friends, relatives and grandchildren, and she always anticipated that wonderful trip home. Home was where her heart was.

She is predeceased by her loving husband, Leon Cooper, aka, Angel; her precious sister, Jo Goodson; her children, Robbie Cooper and Sandra Wilson; and many other relatives and friends whom she is rejoicing with. Her surviving family includes her son, Terry Thompson (Linda); her sisters and family in Tennessee; grandchildren, Shane Jordan, Jessica Cooper Maynard, Robert “Channing” Jordan, and Roberta Cooper; and numerous great grandchildren, great great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made of Community Hospice of Northeast Florida.

The funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Sunday, January 21, 2018 at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, followed by interment at Riverside Memorial Park.
