Dorothy Bennett Godwin, aged 68, died peacefully on October 5, 2014. Dorothy was born February 10, 1946 in Jacksonville, Florida, the daughter of Lindsey Bennett and Cleo Mackenzie. Dorothy "Dot" drove a school bus for 25 years in Duval County School System. She loved helping kids succeed and watching them participate in sports. Dorothy graduated in 1964 from Paxon Senior High School. Dorothy is survived by her sister, Gladys McCorkle, and brother, Donald Bennett; son, Wesley R Godwin Jr, and daughter, Leslie Godwin; two grandsons, T. W. Godwin and Jacob Godwin; and a number of other relatives and close friends. Arrangements under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 10:00am at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205.
