Dorothy Kirby Lobato

Born in Texarkana, Arkansas she was predeceased by her first husband Charles Seabolt Kirby. She married Alexander Lobato in Florida. Dorothy had many accomplishments during her two very successful careers. She worked in the computer department at the former University Hospital and then received many awards and recognition during her career at Atlantic National bank for outstanding customer service as a teller. When she retired, she became a professional clown known as Petunia through the Gator clowns association and volunteered her time visiting children in Wolfson children’s hospital and Nemours children’s hospital as well as being a regular reader at Storytime at public libraries in the area. Dorothy was a member of the Red Hat society, a much admired square dancer, a seamstress, embroider and she crocheted. She hand made all of her dance attire and costumes and many gifts that are cherished by the ones she loved. She loved anything chocolate and anything pink. A talented, gifted, generous and well respected lady who always maintained impeccable appearance; she will be missed greatly. Dorothy was a member of sacred heart catholic parish in west Jacksonville Florida.

Her survivors include her husband Alexander Lobato, daughters Patti Freis, Carolyn Rekininis, stepsons Michael Lobato, Robert Lobato, Richard Lobato and stepdaughter Rebecca Schaeffler, grandsons Ryan Lobato Stephen Lobato, David Lobato , Eric Reikenis, granddaughters Krista Tomiko Jennifer Routh, Shannon Butler, Great grandsons Gabriel Routh , Aiden Reikenis, great granddaughters Isabella Routh, Sophia Routh Emma Tomiko and Mara Tomiko.

Visitation will be on 5pm on Tues at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5752 Blanding Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32244. Funeral Mass will be 11 am on Wednesday at Sacred Heart and interment will be at 10 am on Thursday at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd., Jacksonville, FL 32218.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Wolfson children’s or Nemours hospital in memory of Dorothy Lobato.
