
Dorothy Mae Lancaster McCullough, 85, went to be with her Lord on June 23. She passed away peacefully at home with her husband by her side after a 27 year battle with Parkinson's disease. Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents Virgil Granville Lancaster Sr. and Ruth Henry Lancaster, sister Kathleen Lancaster Hall, and brother; Virgil G. Lancaster, Jr. Dorothy is survived by her loving and faithful husband of 64 years, Wilber Seth McCullough Jr.; four children: Wilber Seth McCullough, III (Jeannie), Ronald Scott McCullough, Jane McCullough Willis (Steve), and Jody Flint McCullough; nine grandchildren: David Vance McCullough, Matthew Seth McCullough, Lori McCullough Allen, Ronald Scott McCullough, Jr., Barrett Lee McCullough, Jennifer Willis Meaders, Steven Alan Willis, Jr., Tasha Lynn McCullough and Meagan Elyse McCullough; and eight great grandchildren.
Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, Florida and graduated from Jackson Senior High School. She was a faithful Christian and member of Woodstock Baptist Church, where she also served as Director of the Woodstock Baptist School. Dorothy was a member of the Jackson Jills Alumni Club and the local Parkinson's Support Group. She was a devoted wife and mother, always patient, loving and kind. She was always there for her family. Visitation will be held from 6 PM - 8 PM at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. Services will be held Friday at 11:00 AM in the chapel, and then she will be laid to rest at Riverside Memorial Park immediately following the services.
If you prefer to make a donation in lieu of flowers, the family would like donations be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, as this was a request of Dorothy's before she passed away.
