

Edith was born on February 2, 1936, in Jacksonville, Florida, to the late Hans Jorbandt and Hedwig Jorbandt. She spent her life in the Jacksonville area, where she built a legacy of compassion, service, and dedication to her family and community.
Edith was a Licensed Practical Nurse and devoted many years to caring for others. During her career she worked with Planned Parenthood and Taylor Home, where she was known for her kindness, professionalism, and commitment to helping those in need.
Outside of her work, Edith enjoyed sewing and embroidery, hobbies that reflected her creativity and patience. She also gave generously of her time volunteering at the Keystone Senior Civic Center. Her faith was an important part of her life, and she was a member of the Catholic community.
Edith was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Davis; her sisters, Charlotte Enterkin, Ruth Roberts, and Betty Mae Williams; her sons-in-law, Reggie Rogers and Jeff Dunn; and her grandson, Jeffrey Dunn.
She is survived by her loving and devoted significant other of 13 years, Jack Gallagher; and her daughters, Barbara, Donna, and Samanthia. Edith also leaves behind nine grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren, along with many extended family members and friends who will cherish her memory.
Edith will be remembered for her caring spirit, dedication to others, and the love she shared with her family and community.
A Graveside Service will be held at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205, US, on March 19, 2026 at 3 pm.
