Edith Mae Parker, 88, passed away Friday, March 17, 2017 in Jacksonville, FL. She was born February 8, 1929 to T.C. and Eleanor McGaha in Jacksonville, FL. Edith loved to go to the Blue Grass music, going to the beach and travelling. Her ultimate love was family get togethers where she very much enjoyed cooking and eating. Mrs. Parker worked at Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Florida for 33 years. Edith is preceded in death by her parents, T.C. McGaha, Eleanor McGaha and one sister Elizabeth Cowart. She is survived by three sons Douglas W. (Barbara) Parker, Stephen R. (Wanda) Parker Sr., Barry E. (Alice) Parker, grandchildren Ashley D. Hauge, Stephen R. Parker Jr., Douglas Parker Jr., several great-grandchildren, one niece Judy Newman and one nephew Greg Cowart. Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home is serving the family. A visitation for friends will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 in the chapel of the funeral home from 11:00am-12:00pm. Graveside service to be held at 12:00pm at Riverside Memorial Park.
