Elisa “Ellie” Feliciano Talastas,79 passed away peacefully on September 11, 2021. She was born on July 20, 1942 in Manila, Philippines to the late Ignacio Nayala Feliciano and Natividad Dela Cruz Feliciano.
She met the love of her life, Domingo Deguzman Talastas at a friend’s party. They were eventually married on July 14, 1968 at St. Joseph’s Parish in Manila. They were blessed with 2 daughters, Mona-Liza and Sweethazel. Since her husband had joined the Navy, she left the Philippines to be with him in Alaska. What a culture shock that was for her. Afterwards, the family moved to live in California, Japan, and Cocoa Beach, Florida. Her final residence was in Jacksonville, FL where she lived for 40 years. While in Jacksonville, she worked at Vista Products and then eventually retired from Johnson and Johnson in 2003. Ellie spent her time with friends, working out, traveling, and spending time with her family. She really enjoyed caring for and spending time with her 2 grandchildren, Cecilia and Tristan. She loved taking them to the movies, going to Disney World, attending their extracurricular activities, and making sure they had plenty of Filipino food to try and eat. Ellie also cherished her travels back to the Philippines to visit with her family as well as traveling to places such as France, Switzerland, Germany, Greece, Italy, Caribbean and Hawaii.
We are eternally grateful for the love and care provided by the dedicated staff at Community Hospice-McGraw Center.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister and brother-in-laws, Dolores F. Mercado and Ildefonso C. Mercado, and Reynaldo Delos Santos Ramos.
