

Eric Michael Spicer, 36, of Jacksonville, FL, passed away on November 27, 2021. He was born in Jacksonville on May 18, 1985 to Mike Spicer (Liz) and Cindy Thomas Roberts (Eddie). He married Jamie Goodroe Spicer on June 18, 2011.
Eric attended Ed White High School graduating top 10 in his class. He was a member of the National Honor Society for middle and high school. He received a BA in Business Management and a Master of Business degree in Human Resources from Saint Leo University, maintaining a 4.0 GPA. He started working for Swisher in 2008, working his way up to the HR Business Partner. He was a member of the Professional Businessman's Association and the Florida Yacht Club. Eric had a lifelong love of baseball from t-ball to collegiate, playing first base setting multiple records for RBI's, earning several MVPs in college and named an All American. One of his highlights was winning Cooperstown and hitting a grand slam, at the age of 12, with his team being inducted into the Hall of Fame. He was a prospect for the MLB draft his senior year. He was an avid Atlanta Braves and Florida Gators fan, an remained a loyal Jacksonville Jaguars fan. He developed a love of cooking, spending multiple weekends smoking meat, brisket being his favorite, on his Big Green Egg and serving big meals for family and friends on his Blackstone.
He was a family man and his greatest joy in life was becoming a father to his seven year old twins, Hudson Michael Spicer and Millie Grace Spicer. He coached every football and baseball game for Hudson and beamed with pride at Millie's dance recitals. Eric and Millie's special memory was attending the Daddy Daughter Dance at the Florida Yacht Club. Eric coached Hudson to winning his flag football championship earlier this year and was so proud of him making the All-Star baseball team this year. He valued friendships and was a special friend to so many. He dropped everything to help friends in need and often checked on ones going through difficult times.
He was a devout christian, intelligent, determined, encouraging and had a positive attitude. He loved his dog, Dolly, and she will miss constantly trying to hug him and play fetch. Through baseball, Eric understood the importance of teamwork, but his ultimate teammate was his wife Jamie. They were true partners in life together raising their twins. Eric was a devoted husband, protector and provider for his family and always filled their home with love and laughter.
Eric is survived by his wife Jamie Spicer; children Hudson and Millie Spicer; parents Mike Spicer (Liz) and Cindy Roberts (Eddie); sister Katie Spicer; step-brother Jacob Roberts; grandparents Roy and Judy Spicer; grandfather Bob Blaess; mother and father in law Glenn and Sharon Goodroe; sister and brother in law Jenna and Chris Stover; brother and sister in law Shane and Shelby Goodroe; nephews Cooper Stover and Ridge Goodroe; niece Campbell Stover and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Preceded in death by grandparents Curtis and Irene Thomas and grandmother Bonnie Blaess.
Pallbearers: Hudson Spicer, Cooper Stover, Raynor Seleen, Preston Taylor, Shane Goodroe, Chase Brunson, Joey Fields, Chris Stover, Lee Shepherd and Matt Thomas.
