

Ernest Cook, 89, of Jacksonville, FL passed away February 2, 2011. He was born in Wellborn, Florida, July 16, 1921. He worked for 38 years for CSX (formerly Seaboard Air Lines) Railroad, retiring as an engineer. Ernest was a long-time member of Murray Hill United Methodist Church and the Fellowship Sunday School Class. He and his wife will be remembered for many pies and cakes they provided for the church’s fundraising efforts over many years. He was the patriarch of our family, striving to instill by his example the values of helping others and wise use of one’s resources, both physical and financial.
Ernest is survived by his wife of 67 years, Annette, three daughters, Marjorie Anderson (John), Patty Kidd (Kerry), Kathryn Beninati (Scott) one son, Donald, ten grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter Courtney Hendrix.
Visitation with the family will be held Sunday, February 6th, 2011 from 1-5 p.m. at the Andersons home, 1414 Sinclair Lane.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 7th, 2011 on the North side of Normandy Blvd in Riverside Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ernest’s name to Murray Hill United Methodist Church or Community Hospice of Northeast FL.
