Ervin Braxton Boatright

Ervin Braxton Boatright, 84, of Jacksonville, FL passed away on September 8th, 2024 after a lifelong battle with type 1 diabetes. Braxton was a loving son, husband and father. He was devoted to the Lord and his family.

Braxton was born on July 2nd, 1940 in Alma, GA. After graduating from Bacon County High in 1958, he joined the US Navy. After 4 years in the Navy, he earned his bachelor’s of science degree at Jones College. He retired after 25 years of civil service at NAS Jax. Braxton was a long standing member and deacon at Lakeshore Baptist Church.

Braxton is survived by his loving wife, Patricia and his 3 sons, Harry Andrew (Terri), Scott Braxton (Dana Duncan-companion) and Adrian Lee (Sunshine). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.

Braxton was predeceased by his parents, Harry and Trudy Coffin.

A visitation for Ervin will be held Thursday, September 12, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will occur Friday, September 13, 2024 at 12:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A committal service will occur Friday, September 13, 2024 at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
