She passed away April 15, 2016 in Ingram, Texas.
Ethel left school at age 16 to help raise her younger siblings. She worked 21 years at K-mart. Ethel was a lifetime member of the Navy Wives Club of American Mayport 201.
Survivors include 4 siblings Garry (Tieng) Van Horn, Pat Pankey, Carol (Fred) Wiessing & Judi (Frank) Dineen, 4 children Maxine Hardesty, Ray Hardesty Jr. (Teresa),Rodney Hardesty, & Shelia (Donald) Clark, many nieces and nephews, 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 2 great great-children. Ethel is preceded in death by her husband Ray Hardesty Sr, parents, Edward VanHorn & Dorothy Shreves, brother, Edward, son, Richard, & two grandsons.
Funeral will be held Saturday, April 23, 2016 at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd. N. Jacksonville, Florida 32225
