Eula was born on July 4, 1929, in Macclenny, FL. She moved to Jacksonville as a child, where she spent the remainder of her life. She married Samuel G. Lowe in a small church ceremony, gaining not only a husband, but a young daughter. The pair remained united for over 50 years, parted only by S.G.’s death in 2001.
Eula was blessed with the gift of hospitality. For decades she cared for numerous children in her home, making her “Nannie” to all. Her love of children and families extended into active school volunteerism and a deep commitment to her church, New Journey (formerly University Boulevard Chapel) of Jacksonville.
Nannie will forever be remembered for her homemade macaroni and cheese and exceptionally sweet iced tea. She was overly kind and generous to everyone she encountered and her love of Jesus will continue to have an eternal impact.
A remembrance service will be held in Eula’s honor on Monday, Apr 11, 2022 at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd Jacksonville, Florida. Family visitation and viewing will begin at 1pm, service to follow at 2pm, and burial at 3pm. The ceremony will conclude with fellowship, refreshments, and a celebration of life.
