Evelyn Parmenter Amy

Evelyn Parmenter Amy of Jacksonville, FL, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, went home to be with The Lord Sunday, September 13, 2015. Born January 20, 1927 in Lawtey, FL she was a daughter of R. Uley and Mattie Parmenter. Evelyn was a faithful member of Arlington Baptist Church.

Preceding her in death were five sisters, one brother, and her daughter, Barbara Moody. She is survived by daughter, Wanda Slappey (Braxton), of Normal, IL, son, Clarence Joseph Amy, Jr. (Debbie) of Jacksonville, Marsha Fox (Geoffrey) of Tierra Verde, FL, son in law, William Moody of Raiford, FL, and many beautiful grand-children, great grand-children and great great grand-children.A grave side service will be held at twelve o’clock in the afternoon on Wednesday, September 16, 2015, at Arlington Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 5:00 until 8:00PM at Hardage-Giddens, Chapel Hills Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Evelyn’s memory to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257.
