

France Lee Barnard, 85, of Jacksonville, Florida passed away peacefully on July 24, 2025, surrounded by his beloved wife and sons.
France was born and raised in Leicester, North Carolina, the son of the late Frank and Mae Barnard. When he left home, he proudly served in the United States Air Force, where he rose to the rank of Master Sergeant and dedicated 21 years of his life to the service of his country. Following his military career, France continued his commitment to community as a letter carrier for 20 years. In retirement, he found joy and purpose in volunteering and serving others, always with a warm smile, generous heart, and a knack for telling captivating stories.
France was a deeply spiritual man and walked his Catholic faith with humility, integrity, and compassion. He was known for his quiet strength, quick wit, and unwavering devotion to his family.
France is survived by his loving wife, Emma Barnard; their sons & wives France, Jr & Miranda Barnard, and Daryle & Lindsey Barnard; five cherished grandchildren who brought him immeasurable pride, joy, and life; and siblings Earl Barnard, Betty Lytle, Richard Barnard, Charles Barnard, & Shirley Hobbs.

A visitation for France will be held Wednesday, July 30, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, with a Rosary to begin at 5:00 PM, at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral mass will occur Thursday, July 31, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 8523 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32221. A committal service immediately follow the funeral mass at Riverside Memorial Park 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
