Frank Roland Hildebrand Jr.

Frank Roland Hildebrand, Jr., 81, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, August 5, 2024. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida on August 24, 1942 and son of the late Frank Hildebrand, Sr. and Evelyn Mae Bryant. Roland married the love of his life, Phyllis Ann Hildebrand, on January 11,1963. Roland was a welder by trade at Aetna Steel and retired from C.F. Machine and Tool. He was a preschool teacher at Dinsmore Baptist Church for more than 20 years. Roland enjoyed fishing, collecting coins, and restoring his candy apple red "hot-rod" Chevy truck. He loved his dog Sadie, Western movies, Nascar, racing go-karts, vacations in the mountains, diet coke, and cookies. He will be remembered by his children as a devoted husband and a loving father.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 47 years, Phyllis Hildebrand.

Surviving family includes his brother, Earl Hildebrand (Cindy), and sisters, Frankie Hartley and Elizabeth Pendarvis; 3 children, Todd Hildebrand, Lisa Porter (Greg), Lori Driggers (Damon); 8 grandchildren, Tyler Hildebrand (Tiffini), Raegan Hildebrand, Leslie Hammock (Matt), Lauren Porter, John Porter (Ashley), Jenna Porter, Hannah Herren (Tyler) and Hallie Driggers; and 9 great grandchildren, Austin, Ava, Amelia, Hudson, Malia, Jordan, Owen, Ethan and Oaklynn. The funeral will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024, with visitation beginning at 10:00 AM, and services beginning at 12:00 PM, at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, Florida 32205.

A visitation for Frank will be held Monday, August 12, 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will occur Monday, August 12, 2024 at 12:00 PM, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A committal service will occur Monday, August 12, 2024 from 1:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
