My heartfelt sympathy goes out to Frank's family. I was privileged to meet and work with Frank in Norfolk soon after his retirement from active duty. He was kind, helpful, and had an unfailing sense of humor--a great role model who contributed significantly to my naval career. Even though I made it a rank or two farther, I could always count on, "Well, it's AGAN Nelson!" whenever I saw him. Godspeed Frank.

I was stationed at NEOC Norfolk numerous time in the 70's and 80's and had the pleasure of being trained by and working with Frank as a WEAX Forecaster.  Had many many good times together and his stories were lengendary.  My wife and I also enjoyed his company at many NWSA_HRC meetings and always had a great time with him.  R. I. P. Frank  You were one of the best..

My deepest sympathy for Frank's family. He was a good friend - we served together in Operation Deep Freeze a long time ago.

Frank and I were stationed together at FWC Norfolk (LP1 Aviation Wx) early 70's.  He was my LCPO, At the time I was a 2nd class and his admin/supply PO.  Was my pleasure to work for him.  One of my favorite memories of Frank was that he owned a Bentley (steering wheel on the right side) -  He give Carol and I (newly weds at the time) a ride to an office  party in his Bentley, acted as our chauffer, hat and all.  RIP.... Frank.

RIP Frank Patrick.  It was a pleasure working with Frank 1968 to 1970 time frame at FWC Norfolk. Then again 1985 til the mid to late 90's as a weaxer.  His sense of humor kept me entertained for hours!  I learned a lot from Frank.  Robert Monheim

Frank and I did a lot of kidding over the years, one thing that sticks in my mind about our banter was his talking about the Hudson Cars, expect Frank is now riding high in that Hudson.  Remember when Frank was relieved by John Shay at the HQ, all of Franks "stuff" including dirt from his desk was mailed to him...Frank was a fun person and our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family...

Frank and I were stationed together at the US Navy Weather Service Headquarters, at The Washington  DCNavy Yard  in the late 1960's.  May Frank rest in peace in the arms of the Lord.  (John Stroade Shay, Sr., USN (ret)).
