Fred Homer Brown Jr. peacefully passed away at home on October 22, 2026, after a long and courageous battle with cancer.
Fred was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and great-grandfather, and a man whose life was centered around his faith, his family, and the things he loved. He shared 59 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Dorothy Brown, building a life filled with love, memories, and devotion.
Fred was a faithful member of Murray Hill Baptist Church, where his faith was an important part of his life. He was also a lifelong Mason, an organization that held a special place in his heart.
Fred was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Betty Brown and his beloved son, Freddy Brown.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Dorothy Brown; his daughter, Angela Perry (Mark), his daughter-in-law, Missy Hester (Tal), and his sister Jeannie Wright (Harold) who will continue to cherish his memory and the love he shared with them.
He was a proud grandfather to Ryan Brown (Jennie), Gavin Brown (Lyanne), Georgia Perry (Shane) and Jackson Perry. His legacy of love continues through his precious great-grandchildren, Hazel, Lauren and Ronin, who brought him great joy.
Fred loved his family and friends deeply and will be remembered for that above all. He was an avid golfer who had a love for the game. NASCAR was a lifelong passion that he drew everyone into. As the man who could fix anything, he enjoyed the technical aspects of racing as well as the thrill. The memories he created, the love he gave, and the time he shared with those closest to him will remain treasured forever.
Though his earthly journey has come to an end, his love will never fade. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A private service will be held at a later date.
Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever in our hearts.
