Geneva was a retired school teacher from Jacksonville Heights Elementary with 30 plus years of teaching children who still remember her words to this day. She had a love of education and bringing enjoyment to learning for the generations to come. She graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelors Degree in Education. Geneva enjoyed being part of the Riverside Park United Methodist Church. She met many friends that became near and dear to her heart. After meeting these people it became a routine for her to see and enjoy their company.
In life her passions varied between many artistic talents. She enjoyed jewelry making, wreath crafting and creating beautiful pieces that she gave as gifts to her family and friends. The creativeness and artistic talents she possessed only grew with the enjoyment of the people she loved. Her passion did not stop at art but the love of animals. During the 17 years of marriage with her husband JD, they both shared love of their four legged children, which became many through the years.
She loved the game of tennis and enjoyed watching matches on TV. She frequently traveled after her retirement. Her journeys took her to Europe, Alaska and Hawaii with close friends. She enjoyed it so much she took her mother to Europe, Alaska and Hawaii. Geneva was also the care giver for her mother until her passing.
Using her love of art and teaching she used these talents to help raise her niece and nephews. Unfortunately, she did not have children of her own but she poured her love into her sisters’ children. Geneva was a very instrumental part of her family’s life in having a hand in raising her niece and nephews. The love she shared is deeply rooted in their memories, which shaped them into the individuals they are today. The most memorable part of Geneva is not only taking care of children but how much she enjoyed being a kid with them.
