George Rodner Buchanan, age 63, passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born in Daytona, FL on May 9, 1961 to Duncan Luther Buchanan and Norma Gail Lynch. After graduating high school, he married Joy Elaine Buchanan on April 17, 1981.
George was a truck driver for 40 years, 26 of those years with the same company. He also had worked as an electrician and mechanic.
He enjoyed all family activities, shooting firearms, fishing, drag car racing, assembling model cars and reading.
George was survived by his wife of 43 years, Joy Elaine Buchanan; son, Joshua Rodner Buchanan; daughter, Michelle Elaine Baxter; mother, Norma Gayle Lynch; sisters, Linda Donovan, Cindy Fryer and Mindy Parker; brother, Garth Buchanan; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by father, Duncan Buchanan and grandson, Dallas Buchanan.
A graveside service for George will be held Saturday, June 1, 2024 at 3:00 PM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Boulevard, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
