

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of George Edward Floyd, Jr., who left this world on March 30, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Born on September 20, 1949, in Aiken, South Carolina, George lived a life marked by courage, love and friendship.
A proud Vietnam Veteran, United States Army, First Sergeant, Retired, George served with distinction in the Special Forces as a Green Beret and Airborne soldier. His commitment to his country was matched only by his dedication to his family and friends. George found tranquility in fishing, enjoyed motorcycle riding, the warmth of gathering with loved ones, and never turned down a cold beer. His zest for life was infectious, often sharing laughter and stories that brought smiles to those around him. His great sense of humor and willingness to lend a helping hand made him a cherished friend and neighbor.
George is survived by his beloved wife, Linda Floyd; his son, Joseph Floyd; his daughter, Margie Floyd; his son-in-law, Christopher Cope; and his adored grandson, Owen Cope. Each of them carries forward the love and lessons he imparted, ensuring that his spirit will live on in their hearts.
George's legacy is one of bravery, kindness, and unwavering support for those he loved. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
