George Washington Henderson

George W Henderson, age 83, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday October 7, 2014 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born in Labelle, Florida to Joseph C. and Ida Irene (Miller) Henderson. George was preceded in death by his first wife Charlotte M. Henderson, his daughter and son-in law Delores and husband L.C. Crews, and his son Wesley Henderson. He was a member of Lake Forrest Baptist and worked for 39 years for the Auchter Company. George was also a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and Morocco Shriners (where he built the first Bali Hoo Buggie), United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 627/702 for 65 years, Lifetime Member of Woodmen of the World Jacksonville, FL. George will be missed dearly by his loving wife of fifteen years Mary Ann Henderson; daughter Brenda Ann Hickox; grandson Raphard Noah Hickox-Moody; brothers David Henderson (Betty Ann) and Marvin Henderson; sisters Bunice Holloway(Vernon), Cynthia Vickers (Don), and Effie VonLeue; uncle Jack Batten; brother-in-law N.S. Crawford; sister-in-law Grace Conway: and several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends and family 6:00 pm – 8:00 pm Thursday, October 16, 2014 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205,(904) 781- 9262. Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Friday October 17, 2014 at the funeral home with Ben Harrell and Tommy Henderson officiating. Interment will follow the service at Riverside Memorial Park with Masonic Rites.
