OBITUARY
George Eugene Mosser
February 12, 1937 – March 17, 2021
George Eugene Mosser, 84, of Jacksonville, FL passed away peacefully on March 17, 2021. “Gene” was known to all as a kind, gentle man. His mild demeanor was easy and enjoyable to be around.
Gene was born in Marion, IN on February 12, 1937 to George and Elizabeth Glass. He was the oldest of three brothers, Kurt, Joel, and Gary. Gene was a proud Marine from 1960-1965. He met his wife, Marilee, in 1966 and married in 1967. They were married for 53 years. He is survived by his wife and three children Edward, Thomas, and Julie and 4 grandchildren whom he adored dearly.
Gene had many loves, including fiddles, eagles, pelicans, bluegrass, and Ohio State. He was an accountant by trade but loved the outdoors and the simple things of life. He was always involved in his children's activities such as Cub Scouts, coaching softball and baseball, and playing his trumpet in trios with them. He also enjoyed playing his fiddle for the elderly. As well, he was a mentor for young kids. Before marriage, Gene became Big Brother to 3 kids and loved them as his own, when their father passed away.
He was a simple man, whose kind spirit will live on forever.

Cousin Gene was truly a kind and gentle man. Devoted to his wife and family. I have my own great memories of him from times of Gramma Glass’s house and his visits to see my parents Bill and Betty Glass. Also have heard sweet stories of years ago when he stayed with my parents when he was very young. My condolences to the entire family. I know his sweet soul is making music in heaven ❤️🙏🏻

Gene was a great friend to me and all the members of St Elizabeth Ann Seton Church were he was a very active member. He was very bright and had a wry sense of humor. I will never forget when he came to one of our costume parties dressed as a woman. No one recognized him. He will be missed.

Ed,
I am saddened to hear of the passing of your father. I had the pleasure meeting him when he would come watch you bowl. We discovered that we had something in common. Our love for Bluegrass music. We spent many Wednesday nights talking about our favorite musicians. I know they have a great Bluegrass band in heaven and he is sitting back with a smile on his face having a great time listening to them pick. I truly believe that God crossed our paths for a reason and it was an honor to get to know him. I loved listening to his stories. George, enjoy your new found freedom, save me a seat at the show and as we used to say on Wednesday night... "KEEP ON GRASSIN"

It is hard to know what to say,.. I can't believe you are gone, you were a man of few words but the words you said were warm, kind and loving. Your wife and children were the most important thing - and all that you were lives through them. I truly wish I had more time with you, but I will never forget the time I had. Your quiet strength and gentle demure will never be forgotten- and neither will you.
Love always, your niece and family- Catherine.

I am deeply saddened to hear about the passing of my dearest uncle Gene. He was a man of wisdom, full of positivity and great inspirations and a person with a kind heart. He was a loving husband to my auntie Marliee, father to my cousins Edward, Julie and Thomas and grandfather within his family. There is no replacement for a person like him. I will love and miss him forever. May his loving quiet soul rest in peace. May GOD'S grace and blessings of love comfort my family during this difficult time.

We have very fond memories of Gene. He was a very caring brother-in-law. We have had many laughs with him. He was a loving husband to Marilee for 53 wonderful years and a loving father to Julie, Edward and Thomas.
He will be forever in our hearts.
Sister in Law Marcia, Marcia's husband Mike and our entire family.
