George Neal Thompson

After graduating high school, he joined the United States Navy during World War II. George and Audrey Murray Thompson were married on August 11, 1951. He worked as a Rancher and at ITT Rayonier.

George was affiliated with the Callahan First Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting.

He is survived by his loving wife of 72 years, Audrey Murray Thompson; son, Michael Thompson and his wife Monique; granddaughters, Megan Ocean and husband Joshua, Kayla Thompson and Hannah Thompson; great-grandsons, Jayden Ocean and Liam Ocean; and great-granddaughter, Emmalyn Ocean.

Preceded in death by father, Neal Hampton; mother, Vera Crews Thompson; sister, Lillian May Thompson; brothers, Edgar Lee Thompson and Henry Edward Thompson; and son, George Brenton Thompson.

A visitation for George will be held Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Callahan First Baptist Church, 45090 Green Ave, Callahan, FL 32011. A funeral service will occur Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, 45090 Green Ave, Callahan, FL 32011. A committal service will occur Tuesday, December 12, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Mill Creek Cemetery, 2717-2863 Carroll Corner Rd, Hilliard, FL 32046.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that money be donated to the Store House Ministry at Callahan First

Baptist Church.
