Glenn R. Jewell, 87, passed away Saturday, August 10, 2013 in St Augustine, FL. Glenn was born August 4, 1926 in Cumberland, Maryland to Lester and Alice (Hendrickson) Jewell. He was a retired veteran of 20 years of the United States Navy and later retired after 24 years as a civil servant at Jacksonville Naval Station. Survivors include one daughter Ellen Marie Jakway; one step daughter Brenda Brown Graham; one sister Connie Weaver and five grandchildren. A graveside service will be held 10:00 am Wednesday, August 14, 2013 at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. In lieu of flowers the family request that donations be made in Glenn’s honor to Jacksonville Humane Society, 8464 Beach Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32216. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
