

Gwendolyn Aldermon was born April 23, 1952, in Ocilla, Georgia, to the late Otis and Lessie Corbitt. Her late husband, William Conroy Aldermon (WC) preceded her in death. She graduated from Stanton High School and retired from St. Vincent Riverside Hospital.
Gwendolyn was the 3rd sibling of 10 children with 5 preceding her in death: Amelia Ann Corbitt, Linda Corbitt Jones, Charles Raymond Corbitt, Angela Corbitt, and Gregory Wayne Corbitt.
Gwendolyn was a loving devoted mother and sister who surrounded herself with family and friends. She was a member of First Baptized Church of Jacksonville, Florida. She dedicated her time serving the Kingdom of God. She always went above and beyond for others. She was a very high spirit and strong believer in stepping out on faith. Gwendolyn carried the torch and also was the backbone of her family, She was a big believer in family & help orchestrated all the family activities. She loved a variety of Music: Gospel, R&B, Old School, also she loved Western Movies. She was her husband’s special nightingale.
Gwendolyn is survived by: her loving Sons: Darrian Corbitt and Christopher Corbitt (Yolanda); Grandchildren: Chris Corbitt Jr., Darrian Corbitt Jr., Brandon Corbitt, Dominick Corbitt, and Camron Corbitt; Sisters: Sharon Abdullah, Janice Simmons, and Karen Higdon (Elijah); a Brother, Craig Corbitt; and a host of uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other loving relatives and friends.
A Committal Service will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218, US, on March 20, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:30 am.
