Gwendolyn Sevor Hayes

Gwendolyn Hayes went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 6, 2024. She moved to Jacksonville at the age of 17 where she worked for First Baptist Church of Jacksonville in the office. Later she worked for Standard Oil and Cigna Insurance. She served in many positions thru her life at First Baptist Church. Her love for the Lord showed in everything she did.

She was married to Dwaine Hayes on July 28th, 1964 until his death. The last six years she spent in Valdosta, GA to be near Cindy & Pat and became a member of Pinetta First Baptist Church.

She is preceded in death by her husband Dwaine Hayes, a brother Glen Sevor, sisters Lucille Dickson and Robbie Walker and nephew David Walker.

She is survived by her niece and nephew Cindy & Pat Coody of Pinetta, FL, bonus son and daughter Terry and Cindy Hayes of Tupelo, MS, other nieces and nephews Glen & Alisha Walker of Pinetta, Ryan & Sheila of Pinetta, Susan and Todd Anderson of Hendersonville, NC. Two Grandchildren and 3 great granddaughters.

A memorial service at First Baptist Church of Pinetta 10285 NE Colin Kelly Hwy will be held on Sunday August 11, 2024 at 2:00 pm.

A visitation will be held on Monday, August 12, 2024 at 1:00 pm at Hardage Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. John’s Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225, followed by a graveside service at Hardage Giddens Chapel Hills Memory Gardens.
