Gwendolyn V. Norvelle, 76, passed away on July 20, 2013. Gwen was a life-long resident of Jacksonville and a graduate of Andrew Jackson High School. She was predeceased in death by her husband, Rufus “Buddy” Norvelle. She is survived by her sons Randy, Johnny and Terry Norvelle – all of Jacksonville; and her daughter, Lori Norvelle, and son-in-law, Michael Thompson, of Battle Ground, WA. She was a loving and devoted grandmother (“Memaw”) to Courtney, Christina, Michael and Kendall; and great-grandmother to Paige, Leila, Amari and Michael, Jr. In addition to her devoted family, she is survived by loving siblings, in-laws, nieces, nephews and a host of long-time friends. Arrangements have been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205, (904) 781-9262. The family will receive the public for visitation and fellowship on Sunday July 28th, from 4-6 pm. Funeral service will be in the chapel at Town & Country at 11 am Monday July 29th, at Town & Country with interment following at Riverside Memorial Park.
