Harry was born in Hinesville, Georgia on February 6, 1929. He was married to Loraine for 62 years before her passing in 2013. Harry was an electrician who loved going to the dog races. He was a wonderful Dad and Pops who will be greatly missed.
Harry was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Petty; two grandchildren; and one great granddaughter. Survived by children, Harry D Long Jr., Shirley Trent, Janice Rogers (Clint), Harriet Barnett (Dennis), Martha Shepherd (Anthony); son in law, Frank Petty, 18 Grandchildren, 35 Great-Grandchildren, and 5 Great-Great-Grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Wednesday, May 31, 2017 at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. The funeral service will be held at 1pm on Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home. Burial immediately following at Riverside Memorial Park. Roland Cuevas will be officiating.
