Hazel O. Faulk

Hazel O. Faulk, age 92, passed away Tuesday, April 30, 2013 in Jacksonville, FL. Hazel was born May 30, 1920 in Carnesville, Georgia to Reverend L. J. Oliver and Jessie Bell (Duval) Oliver. She was raised as a minister’s daughter and later married a minister and served faithfully with her husband as the pastor’s wife for 30 years. She was employed and retired after 20years as bookkeeper for Bay County Tax Assessors. Hazel was a member of the Island View Baptist Church. She loved to crochet in her younger years, had a wonderful laugh and adored her nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband Rev. J C Faulk in 1992. Survivors include her two sisters Mary Rockwood and Lois Roberts; many nieces and nephews. Graveside Services will be held 10:00 am, Friday May 3, 2013 at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205 with Reverend Kevin Collison officiating. Hazel care has been entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. In lieu of flowers family requested memorial donation be made in Hazels’ honor to Island View Baptist Church, 900 Park Avenue, Orange Park, FL 32073 or Community Hospice of Northeast Florida, 4266 Sunbeam Road, Jacksonville, FL 32257 or charity of choice.
