Mrs. Helen A. Nettles, 67, went to be with the Lord on Monday, May 9, 2011. She was born in Foley, Florida in 1944 and was a long time resident of Callahan, Florida. She was a member of True Faith Christian Fellowship and was a dedicated volunteer and truly loved the Lord. She was a devoted and loving Wife, Mother, Sister and Nannie. She enjoyed being outdoors, gardening, fishing, camping and jigsaw puzzles.
She is preceded in death by both parents, Cecil Claude and Victoria Irene Cowart; her husband, Carlos Ed Nettles, Sr.; a beloved grandson, Dalton Ed Nettles; a brother, Drew Cowart; sister, Vivian Green. She is survived by her sons, Arnold Nettles, Jerrell and Darlene Nettles, Carlos E. “Luke” Nettles Jr., and Earl and Becky Nettles; 8 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Claude and Myrtie Cowart; sister, Hilda and Arthur Nettles and many loving family members including numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May 14th, 2011 in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd. The family will receive friends Friday evening, May 13th, 2011 at the funeral home from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.
