Herbert A. Doliente, 82, passed away Sunday, March 11, 2018 in Jacksonville, FL surrounded by loving family and friends. He was born July 23, 1935 to Alberto and Esperanza Doliente in Angeles City, Philippines. Bert loved watching all types of sports such as football and baseball. However, his favorite sport was golf and he followed Arnold Palmer. He was a car enthusiast as well. Bert retired from the United States Navy after serving honorably for 26 years and was a Vietnam Veteran. He was a member of Albert J. Russell Lodge #126, Filipino Travelers Valley of Jacksonville, FL, Knights of Columbus and Visayan Mindauo Association of Jacksonville. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years Kay, son Howard R. Holcomb, daughter Yolaunda (Kevin) Brown, grandchildren Ashley (Matt), Clinton (Sara), Brittney, great-grandson Aiden, brother Dr. Edwin Doliente, sister Leni Handford and numerous nieces and nephews. Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205 is serving the family. A visitation for friends will be held on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 from 5:00pm-9:00pm at the funeral home. Funeral services to be held at the funeral home on Thursday, March 15, 2018 beginning at 11:00am with interment at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, FL 32218 at 1:30pm.
