Herbert J. Washington was born on April 16, 1921 in Ray City, GA. He moved to Jacksonville at an early age. He retired from Jefferson Smurfit in 1986 and was a WWII veteran. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and Men’s S.S. Class. He loved to read Psalms and Proverbs and was predeceased by his loving wife, Ruth Washington. He is survived by his children, Bruce (Pat) and Kay (Norman) Wells, grandchildren, Kim (Colby) Holt and Connor Wells, great grandchildren, Shane Weeks and Casey Holt. Funeral arrangements are being entrusted to Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home located at 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville FL 32205. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 7, 2015 from 10:00 -11:00am followed by the funeral service at 11:00am with interment immediately following in Riverside Memorial Park.
